Chemistry
Online 11th Grade Chemistry course covering atomic structure, reactions, energy, and equilibrium with real-world applications.
About the course
Course Overview
This 11th Grade Chemistry course introduces students to the foundational concepts of chemistry through a systems-thinking approach. Students explore atomic structure, periodic trends, chemical bonding, and reactions while developing an understanding of energy transfer and chemical equilibrium. Through interactive modules, they apply modeling, experimentation, and engineering principles to deepen their understanding of how matter behaves and transforms.
Real-world applications are emphasized, allowing learners to see how chemistry impacts technology, the environment, and industry. Students engage with concepts such as nuclear reactions, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, and reaction rates, and they use engineering design practices to develop solutions for chemical challenges.
The course is delivered online in a self-paced, asynchronous format, making it ideal for students preparing for advanced STEM coursework or considering careers in science, engineering, or healthcare. Lessons include interactive eBook content, embedded activities, quizzes, and unit assessments, with a midterm and final exam to measure mastery. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the analytical and problem-solving skills needed for success in both academic and real-world chemistry applications.
