Future Ready Middle School
A middle school program built for what comes next.
A future-focused pathway your student explores. Real projects they can show. A coach in their corner the whole way.
What Is Future Ready Middle School?
A jump ahead by the end of 8th grade.
By the end of 8th grade, a Future Ready Middle School student has explored real career fields, created a project worth putting in a portfolio, completed a future-focused path of study, and worked with a coach who knew them by name. They enter high school with direction, confidence, and a sense of purpose.
Most middle schools don't end that way. That's a jump ahead.
Future Ready Middle School is Excel High School's full program for grades 6–8. It's built for families who want a school that meets their student where they are, opens up real career exposure, and gets them ready for high school.
Credentials Families Can Trust
Structure that makes your student's work count wherever it matters.
- Accredited by the Cognia System of Distinction — the same recognition held by leading schools.
- Cognia STEM Certified school with instructional standards that hold across all our paths.
- IBCCES Certified Autism Resource, with digital coursework aligned to established accessibility standards.
- A+ BBB rating with SOC 2 security compliance, so your student's data is safe.
What's in the Program
The foundation every middle schooler needs.
The Future Ready Middle School Program is $7,750/year and gives your student what they need to thrive in middle school and walk into high school ready.
What's Included
- A future pathway selected by your student and guided by a Success Coach, with courses across STEM and other career-oriented disciplines, leading to high school and beyond.
- A personal Success Coach for check-ins, skills, and accountability all year long.
- Administrative support from your Success Coach — enrollment, scheduling, transcripts, and progress tracking — to support your family.
Choose Your Pathway
Every student picks a pathway.
Each pathway introduces a future-oriented discipline and culminates with a capstone experience appropriate for an 8th grade graduation portfolio. Pathways align with the same career clusters used in Excel High School's high school programs of study — so the pathway your student picks here connects directly to the high school track they'll continue on.
This is not a career commitment — it's the base they'll keep building throughout high school and beyond.

Why Future Ready Middle School Is Different
Focused on what comes next.
Where most middle schools are focused on the next quarter, Future Ready Middle School is focused on what comes next.
When a Future Ready Middle School student finishes 8th grade, they don't just finish with a transcript. They finish with:
- Exposure to real careers, real tools, and real ways of thinking that high school will build on
- A capstone project they can present, rather than just talk about
- Habits, not just deadlines met — a different kind of coaching relationship
- A clear plan for the remainder of high school
That's what makes the difference between completing middle school and getting ready for the next step.
Single Course Option
The full program isn't necessary for every family.
Future Ready Middle School single courses give your student a dedicated Success Coach for an individual course.
When Single Courses Are the Answer
- Your student is currently enrolled in another school but needs a course offered by Excel High School.
- Your student is interested in taking a course that is not offered at their school.
- You homeschool and are looking for accredited credit in a particular subject.
- Your student requires credit recovery or credit acceleration with a flexible timeframe.
- You're looking to get a preview of Excel High School prior to enrolling in a program.
Set your student up for the years ahead.
Consult with an Excel High School advisor. They'll walk you through pathway options, provide counseling support, and discuss how Future Ready Middle School can suit your family's needs.
